FAQ
Common questions about how haunt. works, what counts as ghosting, and how your data is handled.
Submitting
haunt.so is specifically for investors who expressed genuine interest and then disappeared — not cold rejections or pass emails.
It counts if an investor: asked for your deck and never responded, gave a soft yes then stopped replying, requested due diligence documents then went silent, took multiple meetings and vanished, or said "follow up next quarter" and ignored your follow-up.
A clear "no" or "not a fit" does not count. That's a rejection. We only track the grey zone — where an investor raised your expectations and then disappeared.
Yes. We never collect your name, company, or any identifying information. The only thing that appears publicly is the stage you were raising, how the investor expressed interest, how long it took, and any optional message you chose to write yourself.
Write your optional message carefully — don't include details that would identify you.
Email verification is the only thing preventing abuse. Without it, anyone could submit false reports with no accountability.
Your email is hashed with SHA-256 immediately on the server — the raw address is never written to our database. It cannot be reversed. It's used only to confirm you're a real founder and to prevent duplicate submissions.
Click the verification link in your email within 24 hours. Once verified, your submission is reviewed and typically goes live within a few hours. Ghost scores recalculate nightly.
No. One submission per verified email per investor. This prevents score inflation from a single person.
Ghost Score
Nightly from three factors: volume of verified reports (40%), average weeks before going silent (30%), and percentage of founders who never received any answer at all (30%).
Scores run 0–10. Higher is worse. A minimum of 3 verified submissions is required before a score displays.
Green (0–3): few reports or low severity. Amber (4–6): a pattern worth knowing about. Red (7–10): consistent behaviour across multiple verified submissions.
A high score is not proof of wrongdoing — it reflects what verified founders have reported.
Privacy & Legal
No identifying information is collected or stored. Your email is hashed and never stored in plain text. Your company name is never asked for.
The optional message field is the only free-text that appears publicly — don't include identifying details there.
Yes. haunt.so publishes anonymous personal experiences — the same model as Glassdoor, Trustpilot, and Yelp. Submissions are verified to come from real people, false submissions can be disputed and removed, and all content is clearly presented as user-reported experiences, not factual claims by haunt.so.
We operate under Australian law (Quarry Software Pty Ltd).
Email hello@treyha.com with the approximate date and the investor it was about. Since we don't store emails, deletion requests are reviewed manually and processed within 48 hours if the details match.
Investors
Every submission has a "Report false submission" link. Use it, explain why it's inaccurate, and our team reviews it within 5 business days. Submissions that are factually impossible are removed. Disputed but plausible submissions remain live with a review flag.
