haunt.so ("we", "us", "our") is operated from Australia and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What data we collect
When you submit a ghosting report, we collect your email address only for verification purposes. We immediately hash your email using SHA-256 and store only that hash — we never store your raw email address in our database.
We also store the details of your submission (dates, meeting count, stage, expressed interest type, and any optional message you provide) without any information that identifies you personally.
If you join our newsletter or Pro waitlist, we store your email address in plain text for the sole purpose of sending you updates you requested.
How submissions are stored
All ghosting submissions are stored anonymously. Verified submissions appear on public investor profiles without your name, company, or contact details. Optional messages are displayed without attribution.
Whether we sell your data
We do not sell individual submissions or personal information. We may share or license aggregated and anonymised data (for example, industry-wide ghost score trends) that cannot reasonably be used to identify any individual submitter.
How to request removal
To dispute a submission or request removal of content relating to you, contact us with sufficient detail for us to locate the record. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
You may also access, correct, or complain about our handling of your personal information by contacting us at the same address. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Cookies
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This service may set cookies or use similar technologies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking for marketing purposes.
Data retention
Verified submissions are kept indefinitely unless disputed and removed following our review process. Email verification tokens expire after 48 hours. Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
